People, a few centuries ago relied on animals for their transport. Horse driven carriages were the go to mode of transport and this too, was only for the elite families. The growing into the use of metal instead of flesh and blood was a big leap for us humans. The comfort derived from said metal is one of its most endearing qualities.
Using cars in the present age has enabled flexibility in the various lives of its users. Long ago, as we have earlier established, the use of animals was rampant. Another common means of transport used then was the use of rail. It was mainly used to transport mined minerals as well as people who were travelling to far off places. The use of boats and planes grew as time changed and this only introduced more social stratification in the society. First class was for the wealthy while third class was for the average person. Cars are able to lower the effects of social stratification. The booking of a ticket prior to making travel plans is not needed when travelling with cars too.
A sense of personal freedom has been developed in this age. Going to work, shopping and even going to hang out with friends has never been easier. When we look at this particular advantage, we are able to see the other pleasures it affords us. An ambulance, for example, is but a call away in case of a medical emergency. In rural areas, however, ambulances might not be on call and this raises the value of a residence with a vehicle since they will be able to take the ailing to the nearest health center for help.
Impromptu vacations and pleasure trips are able to be taken if one has a car. It is not usually an uncommon sight to see families decide to go for vacation weekends. They usually just get up and throw their luggage in their trunks, get in and they are off. The ease of travel to remote areas is not able to be afforded by just any means of transport. Rail limits you to the areas with rail line while the use of boats limit one to the areas with water bodies. Possession of a car is thus, a luxury since it has many benefits.
If cars had not been invented yet, we would be stuck in a very stressful time. The conclusion that cars are indeed important to us can therefore be drawn comfortably.
